Terms and Conditions

Applicable to hirers of Pledgdon Barn who will be deemed to be responsible for their event, guests, musicians + other service providers.

DEPOSIT: NB All dates are ‘open’ until a deposit is received. It’s not possible to ‘provisionally hold’ a date. A booking is confirmed upon receipt of 50% barn hire charge – which is non-refundable and secures your booking date.

Anyone booking the barn or involved in the costs of organising an event, should investigate taking out appropriate INSURANCE in case of unforeseen circumstances.

The remaining hire amount is due 16 weeks prior to the event + £400 deposit against damage/breakages/late lock up (this damages deposit is refunded as appropriate soon after your event).

AVOIDING OVER-RUNNING ON END TIME: We ask that in advance, the hirer nominates an adult (with car) who agrees to remain responsible at the event and to stay to the end, ensuring all persons have safely left the barn premises/curtillage (eg last guests collected by taxis/mini bus) but who will, if required, be able to drive any remaining guests.

Do introduce us to this adult early in the event. We don’t want to charge ‘late lock up’ fees, so please organise plenty of taxis in lots of time etc.

Also consider the time bands/entertainers take to dismantle sets before vacating, as well as unexpectedly long taxi waiting time (even those pre-booked). Unless other advance arrangements are contracted, the event day hire period is to Midnight.

Barn/car park/grass area must be vacated by 12.30 am. with guests having left completely by vehicle. After 12.30am a charge of £265 per half hour (or part thereof) is levied to 1.30am, after which £375 per half hour (or part thereof) is levied.

We suggest taxis are ordered 2+ hours in advance, the bar ends at 11.30pm and music by 11.45pm. An ideal arrangement is for coaches to collect guests en masse.

CLEARING UP: The barn/kitchen/bar/car park must be left clear of rubbish/decor and any brought-in foliage/equipment. Rubbish to be removed by hirer and/or their event suppliers (do inform your suppliers/friends/family involved in clearing up about this).

If we have to undertake your clearing, there can be a charge.

No cooking/food preparation is permitted at the Barn in advance of Event Day. Unless other arrangements are made, you are welcome to return until 9.30am the day after your event to remove décor etc.

Check Barn/car park to ensure all valuables etc are removed and search for any lost items (eg ear-rings) before leaving.

Anything not removed by this time may be deemed unrequired by you.

Anything you have moved/altered, please return to its pre-event state (unless otherwise agreed with us). NB: Excess damage may result in loss of deposit. Normal cleaning is included – however, cleaning up messes ‘beyond the call of duty’ (eg: as a result of overdrinking) will be charged at £75 each incident.

SORRY, BUT…abusive behaviour to any staff (eg bar staff at closing time) will not be tolerated and may result in loss of deposit and curtailment of bar facilities offered.
