This ancient and historic Tudor barn was erected the year after Henry VIII died in 1548. That’s shortly after the Mary Rose sank in Portsmouth Harbour and before Mary I or Elizabeth I reigned. It’s also 30 years before Sir Francis Drake sailed round the world!
These days it is licensed for civil ceremonies as a wedding barn venue and is ‘home’ to many lovely weddings, parties and occasions. Those that hire Pledgdon Barn are invited to add their own decorative touches (and given a free day’s use the day before their event, for decoration purposes). What lovely results – you’ll see in the photos above.
What ideas do you have for decorating this lovely wedding barn venue? We’ll add more photos in due course – perhaps yours!
